W. Stewart MacNutt Memorial Lecture

The 2013 Lecture will be held at UNB Fredericton on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 in the Alfred G. Bailey Auditorium at Tilley Hall at 5.30 p.m.

Boom, Bust and Bluster: The Oil Daze of Newfoundland and Labrador, Atlantic Canada's "Have" Province will be presented by Professor Sean Cadigan of the Department of History at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. Prof. Cadigan is the author of a recent prize-winning history of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The annual W. Stewart MacNutt Memorial Lecture honours the late historian, professor and humanitarian for his many contributions to UNB and to the development of Atlantic Canadian history as a field of study.

W. C. Desmond Pacey Memorial Lecture

The 2012-2013 Lecture was held at UNB Fredericton on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.  Juggling Work & Family: What Women Leaders Can Teach Us was be presented by Dr. Diane F. Halpern, the McElwee Family Professor of Psychology & Roberts Fellow, Claremont McKenna College, and past-president of the American Psychological Association.

Hosted by the faculty of arts on both UNB campuses, the W.C. Desmond Pacey Memorial Lecture is presented by leading figures in humanities and social sciences.  It was established in 1981 to honour the late Desmond Pacey, a distinguished UNB professor and administrator who died in 1975.
