Nomination and Approval Procedures for
the Honorary Rank of Emeritus
Members of the university community, including faculty, staff and students, may nominate retired faculty, librarians, and administrators, to receive the honorary rank of emeritus.
A letter of nomination with the nominee's curriculum vitae attached should be addressed to the University Secretary, Sir Howard Douglas Hall, UNB Fredericton. Supporting letters may also be included.
A committee reviews the nominations, makes its recommendations to the President and the Fredericton Senate, who in turn pass their recommendations along to the Board of Governors for final approval.
The honorees are then recognized before their peers, usually at an Encaenia or Convocation ceremony.
