Sarah Dennene is a member of the New Brunswick Law Society and the Quebec Bar and the Research, Education and Outreach Director at the Office of the New Brunswick Child and Youth Advocate. She is in charge of the Office’s research, education and outreach mandate at the provincial, national and international levels. She supported the Secretariat of the Working Group on the Rights of the Child within the Francophonie. Sarah began her legal career as a law clerk to Justice Michel M.J. Shore at the Federal Court of Canada, then entered private practice (immigration law) before devoting her efforts to educating youth about the law.

She holds a Master’s degree in international Law from the Université du Québec à Montréal. She sits on the Convention on the Rights of the Child Canadian Bar Association subcommittee, chairs the NB Children’s Law section and co-chairs the Child Rights Education Week National Steering Committee. Sarah is a member of the Child Rights Academic Network and a board member of the New Brunswick Refugee Clinic, where she previously acted as the supervising lawyer.
