Brief biography

Originally from Toronto, Ed started his career after graduating with a Forest Technician Diploma from Sault College of Applied Arts and Technology in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Ed has extensive experience within the public sector after working for both the Canadian Forest Service and the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources in various aspects of forest entomology, pathology, and conservation. He has also worked in the private sector and owned two different forestry related business.

In 2004, Ed received his BSc in Forestry from UNB with a focus on forest ecology. He then became the Executive Director of the Association for Registered Professional Foresters in New Brunswick. Ed joined the staff at the Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management in 2009 where he is faculty’s technical team lead, resident plant specialist, and is currently a Contract Instructor in Urban Forestry Conservation and Management.
