  • Anaerobic/Aerobic Biotechnology: High-rate treatment of municipal and industrial wastewaters; enhanced granulation of sludge; utilization of biogas; effluent characterization; post treatment systems.
  • Removal of heavy metals, pharmaceuticals and color from water by inexpensive adsorbents.
  • Biological nutrient (N and P) removal from wastewaters and upgradation of treatment systems.
  • Remediation of nitrate, sulfate, arsenic and other pollutants from groundwater.
  • Study of biofouling and bicorrosion events in wells and distribution systems.
  • Development of a rapid BOD determination/forecasting system for municipal and industrial effluents based on biological aggressivity of bacteria in the samples.
  • Treatability studies of petroleum and chlorinated hydrocarbons contaminated sites.
