Event Date(s):
August 09, 2018
Time(s):
09:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Category:
Fredericton
Location:
Fredericton

Event Details:

The second of a pair of workshops that focus on the following aspects of instructional design that have impact on university teaching:

  • Audience analysis (Data on undergraduate and graduate students that UNB and MPHEC collect will be presented and discussed.) - Workshop 1
  • Learning objectives or outcomes (statements of what students should know and be able to do, so instructional activities are designed to help them do so) - Workshop 1
  • Research-informed instructional methods appropriate for the learning levels indicated in the outcomes - Workshop 2
  • Research-informed formative and summative evaluation methods that complement the outcomes - Workshop 2

These two workshops were offered in July and are being re-offered in August for the benefit of any who are interested but were away in July. (Hopefully improved through attendee feedback.)

The workshops will be mostly application activities and lots of discussion, with a few short presentations.

You will work on actual content from a UNB undergraduate course as a way of exposing the instructional issues involved in implementing the instructional design aspects noted above, then discuss with colleagues how these issues may be addressed in the courses you teach.

After you register, you will be contacted to see what specific things you may want from these sessions, to ensure they are addressed. As well, additional information will be provided prior to the workshops.
