Cycle. Sweat. Support! Join URec for its 6th annual Cyclethon in support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.

Class details: The first class will begin at 6:30 a.m. and the last class will take place at 4:30 p.m. Classes will start at half past every hour (6:30 a.m., 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., etc.) and will each run for 30 minutes.

How to participate: Registration will take place in the Rec Gym and will open 15 minutes prior to class start time. Class participation is by donation (a minimum of $5 per class is required) and is open to members and non-members.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick. The funds raised by URec’s annual Cyclethon stay within the province and help to fund initiatives such as:

  • CPR training in schools
  • The placement of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) around the province
  • The implementation of Telestroke, which allows neurologists to diagnosis and treat strokes via video

  • Second prize: A personal training starter package
  • Third prize: Roots Heart and Stroke Foundation hat and mittens 

Participants will receive one ballot per completed class.

Bonus: URec will offer participants a 5 per cent membership discount for each completed class! (Up to a maximum of 25 per cent)

Note: Participants can ride a maximum of three classes in a row.

URec will provide each participant with a stamp card. You will receive one stamp (worth 5%) per class. Stamp cards must be redeemed by April 30, 2018. Discounts can be applied to 4-month and annual membership purchases.*
