Two new compositions by Joel Miller and his father Michael R. Miller will be featured in a free concert of saxophone and piano on Wednesday, October 16 at 12:30pm at Memorial Hall, UNB.

Saxophonist Joel Miller won a Juno Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album “Swim” this year. Pianist Michael R. Miller was awarded a Creation Grant by Artsnb in 2012 to write for the new Fredericton group “Atlantica,” who premiered Michael’s new work on September 22 concert of Music on the Hill.

Along with the premier of Michael Miller’s “Flower Set” and Joel Miller’s “Pumpi,” the concert will also feature Dvorak’s “Larghetto,” Granados’s “Intermezzo,” Ravel’s “Pièce en Forme de Habanera,” Schmidt’s “Sonatina,” Jobim’s “Luiza” (arranged by Joel Miller), Bozza’s “Pastorale,” and Lacour’s “Almacor.”
