New Terms in Microsoft Word 2007
Microsoft Word 2007's interface is quite different than its predecessors. If you are unfamiliar with the software, please take the time to read about the following terms that will be used throughout the video demonstrations.
The Microsoft Office Button
This replaces the File menu from earlier versions. When you click this, you will have several options such as Save, Print, and the Recent Document List.

Tabs
Tabs replace the menu names from earlier versions of Word.

The Ribbon
When you click a menu tab in Word 2007, you won’t see the drop-down menus familiar from earlier versions of Word. Instead, the Word Ribbon opens, which replaces the toolbars from earlier versions of Word.

Groups
Groups are the labeled sections--containing actions/options that relate to each other--located on the ribbon. For instance, the groups in the image below are the Clipboard, Font, and Paragraph groups.

Dialog Box Launchers
Dialog Box Launchers are small icons that appear in some groups. Clicking a Dialog Box Launcher opens a related dialog box or task pane, providing more options related to that group.

Please note that there are various other new features/terms in Word 2007; however, they will be explained specifically in the videos when they are used.
