Matching gifts

Many companies, corporations and foundations will match their employees' donations to charitable organizations including educational institutions like the University of New Brunswick. Most are matched on a 1:1 basis, but many will match on a 2:1, 3:1, or higher basis.Many organizations will match their employees' donations.

Matching gifts are an important and easy way for an employee to make a donation which will have a larger financial impact than would normally be the case.

Companies will match gifts to show their appreciation for quality institutions and to ensure that a supply of educated personnel will continue to be available to them. Through a matching gift program, a company is able to advertise its corporate image at a low cost and complement other support programs without conflict.

To provide a matching gift, obtain a matching gift form from your employer. The forms should be available from the human resources department. The form should then be filled out and forwarded to the UNB's Office of Development and Donor Relations.
