Gifts in Kind

Support for the University of New Brunswick doesn't always come in the form of cash.Support for UNB doesn't always come in the form of cash.

Donations of physical assets such as artwork, books, real estate, equipment, or other tangible personal property may also assist the university in supporting its mission.  These assets may then be used by an appropriate department or sold and the cash proceeds used.

A tax receipt for the fair market value on the date that the gift is received by the University (to be determined by one or more professional appraisers) will be issued. Note that a gift of professional services doesn't qualify under The Canadian Income Tax Act for a tax receipt.

A number of regulations encompass this form of giving and the University's policy and procedure may be viewed by clicking here. You can also download a form for gifts in kind.
