Biography

Keith Owre is a full time doctoral student in the UNB faculty of education. He received both his undergraduate honours degrees; psychology and philosophy, and his masters degree, from the University of Saskatchewan. His interests in cognitive processes and test construction, both sparked during his undergrad degrees, led him to specialize in measurement and assessment processes during his master’s degree. He utilized his master’s thesis to investigate the relationship between school context and the acceptance of computer technology. While having experience in applying both qualitative and quantitative research methods, Keith’s ongoing quantitative research interests led him to pursue his doctorate at the University of New Brunswick.

Keith has received an internship with Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS) to investigate factors influencing high school student pursuit of specific educational pathways. He hopes to broaden this work in his doctorate and in addition gain a greater understanding of longitudinal analysis techniques as they are applied to large scale assessments.
