Biography

Robert was named adjunct professor with the Faculty of Education and CRISP as of July 1, 2011. He completed his PhD at CRISP in October 2010. His thesis examined the psychometric properties of the French version of the Early Years Evaluation – Teacher Assessment (EYE-TA).

Robert has a BSc from UNB, an MSc in neurobiology from Laval and a BEd from St. Thomas. He has taught high school for 12 years and authored a grade 11 Chemistry text book. His teaching was recognized with two teaching awards. He has worked at the New Brunswick Department of Education since 1996 first as a Science consultant and then as assistant director of curriculum services before being named director of assessment and evaluation in 2000, a position he still holds. Robert has teaching experience at both the Université de Moncton and the University of New Brunswick.

Robert has a wealth of experience at the pan-Canadian and international levels having been a member of the School Achievement Indicators Program (SAIP) Science development team and the more recent pan-Canadian Assessment Program (PCAP) Science assessment team. He was also a member of the group which developed the Common Framework of Science Learning Outcomes K-12, a pan-Canadian document intended for curriculum developers. He has represented Canada at the OECD's PISA 2006 Science Forum as well has having been a member of the PISA 2006 Science Expert Group.
