Biography

Justine Gibbings previously worked for the Australian Government in Canberra, Australia mainly in the subject matter areas of income security and employment particularly for mothers with dependent children. She also gained considerable experience with many aspects of both sample surveys and large datasets created from administrative records.

She is currently working on a PhD dissertation using data from the Canadian Children's Survey that focusses on mothers and children and how the resources that mothers provide from their employment affect the outcomes of their children as these children make the journey from birth to Kindergarten. These relationships are considered within the context of SES at both the family and neighbourhood level in urban and rural areas.

While at CRISP she has also worked on projects involving the calculation of SES, a survey of longitudinal children's survey around the world, analysis of social assistance data for the Province of NB and analysis of survey data on adolescent sexual health among NB teenagers.
