Oral & Poster Presentation Details
The technical program of the conference will run 4 days. We plan to have 2 separate morning ½ day Plenary Sessions (1 Mineral Exploration oriented & the 2nd Environmentally oriented) that will each be kicked off by a keynote speaker (40 minutes (total)); these 2 plenary sessions will have no overlap with other sessions. The remaining days will have ½ day sessions with 15 minute presentations, but 20 minutes between presentations for questions & moving between rooms. A 35 minute guest presentation (40 minute spot) for each Special Session is planned for each ½ day session; these will be followed by 15 minute oral presentations (20 minutes between talks). The guest speakers are will be selected by the co-chairs of any accepted Plenary Sessions or Special Session submission. Tuesday afternoon set aside for 5 minute oral presentations (4 slide) for the poster presenters; Beth McClenaghan (GSC) has kindly agreed to host this very Special Session.
The poster session will also be ongoing during the entire first 3 days of the conference and located within the main exhibiting area on the upper floor of the SUB (with bar); time will be available for a mixer between the sessions and the evening events, with beverages available. The details on poster size will be forthcoming and velco will be provided.
We will be producing an extended abstract volume with a format of 2-4 pages; a 200 word short abstract, figures, tables, acknowledgements, and references in a Word document in GEEA format; a sample submission format will be available on the IAGS 2009 website soon. These extended abstracts will be printed in a volume and reproduced on CD; student registrants will only receive the CD. Both the book and CD will be included in the normal registration package. The co-chairs will be involved with the scientific and technical editing of these extended abstracts, with the help of the Technical Program Chairs, Drs. Kay Thorne (NB DNR-Minerals) and David Keighley (UNB).

All the received final papers will be printed in a volume and published on CD that will be given to the Congress attendants.
POSTERS
There will be awards for the best posters (details to follow). The Local Organising Committee will supply a poster boards. The dimensions 0.9 m (wide) and 1.2m (high), i.e., narrow format. Velcro will be provided to attach posters. The authors are kindly asked to also prepare some 8.5" * 14" copies of their poster for interested delegates. Also note that on Tuesday afternoon, you will have the opportunity to present (4 slide ppt) for 5 minutes on your topic.
For the convenience of the delegates, it is possible to have the posters printed by the organization at a cost of $125 Cdn. Those delegates interested should send to the Congress secretariat before May 1st in a pdf (containing a page with the final dimensions, within the established limits) and it will be printed and placed on the Congress boards.

Afterwards, the journal "Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis" (GEEA), produced jointly by the Association of Applied Geochemists and the Geological Society of London, will consider publishing Special Issue for the 24th IAGS.

IMPORTANT DATES
May 3rd, 2009: Deadline for Early-bird registration, a surcharge of $50 will be levied thereafter, and field trips will be decided. All authors of extended abstracts must register by this date, or they will be have to be removed from the program.
September 30, 2009: Deadline for submission of papers to Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis for the Proceedings Special Issue.
