Sunday Painters: Intro to Acrylics

This class is suitable for beginners or intermediate painters. We will focus on the fundamentals of colour theory, the study of light and shadow, composition, visual perspective, brush work and paint handling and application, as it pertains to acrylic medium. You will get to experience and experiment with the various tools you can use to spread the rich tones of acrylic paint, and the various mediums it can be used on! You’ll get to develop your own creative and perceptual skills, as we explore varied subject matter. With plenty of demonstrations and individual attention, students will be encouraged to work at their own pace. This class includes positive and supportive critique during each session.

Materials Fee $40, for:
Sketchbook, 8.5x11" size,
1 tube each- Acrylic paint: ultramarine blue, cadmium red light, cadmium yellow light and white.
2 Medium size brushes.

About the instructor: Peggy Woolsey is a lifelong artist with a background in teaching kids and adults all around the world! She’s the kind of teacher who can show you how to try something new, and inspire you to go further than you thought you could. She is a fun and rigourous instructor. You will hone new methods, techniques and skills to express your artistic self, and by the end of this class, you'll have a new-found passion!
