Raising Urban Chickens

 CCOM 6050

Take one giant step towards self-sustainability. It is easy to raise chickens in your backyard, and they will provide fresh eggs for your family every day. It’s legal in Saint John.

Join us in The Coop and learn how to raise your own chickens.

In this short one-day workshop, you will learn how to build and place a chicken coop in your yard, with handouts on coop design. You will learn how to care for, feed, water and clean out your chickens. You’ll learn about the local bylaws too, and where in the region to get egg-laying hens, and what kind of hens to look for.

Now, imagine cracking that first egg from your very own hens.
