Portrait Photography Basics

 CCOM 1066

Portraits = Pictures of People!  This class will start with the basic operations of a digital camera. You will learn how to use your camera to take excellent artistic photographs of people.  You’ll be introduced to all the functions and anatomy of your camera, all those buttons you've experimented with but never figured out.

The class will include sessions on camera angles, posing your subjects, lighting techniques both indoors and outdoors . There will also be a session on 'post-production': how to edit your photos with various software tools. You'll have a chance to show your work, sharing your favourite pieces with your classmates.

This class is for you if you enjoy taking pictures of people- your friends and family, the grandkids- or even want to think about getting in to the field professionally-   and you want to improve your overall knowledge of your camera and learn the basic techniques to take excellent portraits.
