Get up close and personal with nature. Capture the subtlety and beauty of the outdoors with this six-week photography course. Local photographer Jeff Calder will introduce you to the idea of different perspectives, compositional techniques, as well as help train your eye to recognize photographic opportunities. You’ll also get to know your gear and brush-up on any necessary camera functions and skills. And of course, you’ll learn how to manage natural light, while taking those outdoor gems!

Equipment: Please bring a DLSR camera, with extra batteries and/or charger, a tripod (if you have one) and an external flash (optional).

About the instructors: 

Cindy Wilson:
A graduate of the photography program of the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, Cindy has had her own photography business since 1989. In addition to wedding and portrait photography, she has experience shooting a variety of subject matter from crime scenes to nature. Cindy has had images published with the Canadian Press, McLean’s Magazine, and Brunswick News. She spent 20 years as a staff photographer and Photo Editor for the Telegraph Journal and has conducted many photography tours of the City of Saint John for cruise ship passengers. Cindy is passionate about photography and encourages her students to capture the image they want in-camera, rather than spending time editing later.
