Grant Writing for Artists
ArtsNB’s Creation Grant program provides money to NB artists for the research, development and execution of original projects in the arts. Creation Grants allow artists to devote time to research and creative production.
This class aims to help Saint John artists and arts presenters increase their chances of obtaining funding through grant writing skills development. Participants will be introduced to the specific needs of an artsNB grant and receive basic information and practical experience. The goal for each participant is a completed creation grant application.
Participants will be guided to develop these parts of their grant applications in this workshop:
- Select your appropriate funding level and define how you qualify as a professional artist;
- Develop your artistic resume, your CV, that is a standard part of every grant you will ever apply for;
- Create your grant budget;
- Compile samples of your work;
- Communicate your growth as an artist and
- Write a compelling and clear artistic project
- Ensure that you have completed the checklist properly
Important: Participants should come prepared with a developed project idea, a blank ArtsNB Creation grant application and program description, available at: http://artsnb.ca/site/en/programs/creation/
