Freelance Writing 101

Have you always dreamed about giving up your day job and becoming a freelance writer? If so, Freelance Writing 101 is for you. During this six-week course, you will learn the tools you need to start you on the path to a successful freelance writing business; the different types of writing opportunities that exist; how to find story ideas and interview subjects; how to conduct an interview; how to write a query letter and more.

Trudy Kelly ForsytheAbout the instructor: Trudy Kelly Forsythe has worked in the media for over 20 years, starting out freelancing for a hunting and fishing magazine. She has an English honours degree from the University of New Brunswick and a radio broadcasting diploma from the Atlantic Broadcast Centre.
Over the years, she has written and edited for a variety of media including daily and weekly newspapers, magazines, radio and the World Wide Web as well as for corporate and government clients, including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Farm Credit Canada.
She is a member of the Atlantic Canada Farm Writers’ Association, the Canadian Farm Writers’ Association and the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists.
