Fiction Writing

 CCOM 1112

Stories have been a hot commodity since ancient times. This course will help participants develop their ideas and enjoy the rich, rewarding process of fiction writing. There will be tips on staples of fiction such as characterization, plot, setting, dialogue and point of view. Students are encouraged to share their work, and supportive critiques will be provided, if desired. There will be a class on revision, polishing your work and marketing fiction for publication. If participants wish, there will be writing exercises and homework. Your instructor will provide a list of notable contemporary works of fiction and read from some of them.
