Acoustic Guitar 2 Beyond the Basics

You know the basics, and you’re ready to go beyond. In Acoustic Guitar 2, you will learn a variety of chord patterns, some new chords different ways to ‘voice’ your favourite chords, and new right hand strumming patterns.

We’ll continue learning new major and minor chords, how to find and add the 7th in any chord.  We’ll explore blues and power chords. You’ll learn the excellent left hand thumb trick too.

With this class, we’ll continue to work with specific songs or styles, and answer technique questions brought by the students.

Materials Required: an acoustic guitar, a tuner, a capo

Instructor Sandy MacKayAbout the instructor: Sandy MacKay has been playing guitar for more than 30 years, and he plays a variety of other instruments including double bass, banjo, mandolin, piano and bagpipes. He is a performing musician, and also works as a session musician on other artists’ recordings.  His most recent solo work can be heard at sandymackay.ca
