Create Sewing Machine Drawings
Try something unique! Have fun exploring the unusual pairing of paper and the sewing machine. Experiment drawing with thread on single and double sheets of paper, adding collage materials, and working with found images. At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a series of unique drawings.
Materials Fee: Please bring your own sewing machine. There is a $20 cash materials fee payable to the instructor.
Rag-paper and thread are supplied. However, you are encouraged to bring any old photograph, which you might enjoy working with, as well as textile embellishments and fabric scraps.

About the instructor: Danielle is a doctoral candidate in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of New Brunswick. Her research embraces the fields of craft in contemporary art, the feminist possibilities of/and feminist theory regarding craft media & their processes, the relatively recent phenomenon of Craftivism, and the history of DIY culture.
