Sculptor Joss Richer shows you the elementary steps needed to create a small sculpture.You build an armature, bulk it up with simple materials, and put a skin on it. Joss also demonstrates how to refine the work and add details, using some of his own creations as examples.

Materials Fee: A $15 materials fee is payable (cash) to the instructor at the workshop.
About the instructor: Joss Richer is a Fredericton-based visual artist who works in a variety of media and techniques. His body of work includes charcoal and ink drawings, metal and clay reliefs, mixed-media collages and assemblages, and sculptures in stone, plaster, paper, and other materials.
Joss has an extensive background in science and a keen interest in cosmology and evolution. Over the years, his art practice has grown from a focus on the human form to encompass architecture and ecological art.
He teaches workshops and night classes at the University of New Brunswick, the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. He is a board member of Gallery Connexion and mounts exhibitions for the Charlotte Street Arts Centre.
