Sci-Fi & Fantasy Writing

For anyone working on a science-fiction and/or fantasy short story or their first novel, this writing-intensive workshop is perfect. Classes concentrate on writing, sharing and critiquing your work, with lots of lively and helpful discussion and feedback.

Discussion topics include world building (the futuristic & the fantastic), character development, narrative structure and pacing, with a special emphasis given to the unique genre elements that make writing science-fiction and fantasy so special.

About the instructor:
Terry Armstrong (writing as Cary Caffrey) is the author of two best selling science-fiction novels, The Girls from Alcyone, and its sequel, The Machines of Bellatrix. Terry studied at Concordia University in Montreal, as well as the University of British Columbia, earning a BA and MFA in Creative Writing.
