The Art of Henna Tattoo
Learn to henna! This 2 hour workshop is a combination of discussion and hands on practical work. This is a class intended for beginners, to familiarize you with the basics of henna artistry application - and is always a fun time! Material fee covers fresh made henna cones that you will use in class and can take home with you. Additional supplies are available for purchase at the end of class from Larissa (cash or credit card) if you wish to stock up.
Topics to be covered:
- History and traditions of henna
- How to ID safe henna paste vs unsafe imposter paste
- How henna works
- Applicators and application technique
- How to get the most from your henna art (aftercare)
- Basic designs & hands on practice time
- Resources, supplies & support
Prerequisites: No previous artistic or henna experience is required. Anyone can learn the basics of henna application. Min Age: 13
Materials Fee: There will be a $30 cash materials fee payable to the instructor at the workshop.

About the Instructor
Larissa Reinders burst onto the henna scene in 2003 with the opening of her company Dragonfly Designs Henna. She relocated her business to the east coast from Calgary in 2007. Self-taught in all things henna and internationally certified (ICNHA), she enjoys showing others the ins and outs of this ancient art form, and how to recognize the dangers of "Black Henna" through workshops and her school programs. Her business also supplies artists and enthusiasts with the best in natural henna body art resources. Larissa has inspired many people through henna, and is world reknown for her intricate designs, exacting standards, positive attitude and for the blistering speed at which she works. Larissa's versatility, intuition and passion for henna art are obvious and are appreciated by clients, students and fellow artists alike. Larissa resides in the beautiful city of Fredericton with her husband and 2 children.
