Everyday Arabic & Culture
Immerse yourself in the rich Middle Eastern Culture with this introductory Arabic language course. With instructor Crestina Matta as your guide, you’ll develop a basic knowledge of Arabic conversation. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to carry on basic face-to-face conversations on limited topics, as well as be familiar with Arabic customs and culture. (This course is aimed at non-native speakers. There are no prerequisites.)
Topics covered include:
Week 1: Introduction and conversational skills (pronunciation)
Week 2: Greetings and short sentences
Week 3: Arabic Culture and Customs
Week 4: Arabic practice with a newcomer guest-speaker (TBC)

Time: 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Dates: (WINTER) Wednesdays, January 24 - February 14, 2018 (4 weeks)

About the instructor:
Crestina Matta is one of the Arabic interpreters helping Fredericton’s Syrian newcomers. She is passionate about and devoted to teaching English and Arabic. She came from Ontario to Fredericton to pursue higher education at UNB. Crestina is excited to share everyday Arabic and culture with her students.
