Chinese Beginners - Level I

colosseum imageTake the mystery out of the Chinese language by developing basic conversational skills in a relaxed atmosphere. Expand your vocabulary, continue to polish your pronunciation and learn to speak freely in any situation! To get the full benefit of this class, it is recommended that you complete Traveler's Chinese I or have an equivalent knowledge of the language.

Materials: It would be helpful to purchase Lonely Planet's Mandarin Phrasebook (CD not required).

Dates: (FALL) Tuesdays, October 2 to December 4th, 2012 (10 weeks)

About the instructor: Jasmine Murat was born and raised in Beijing, China. She has a B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing University, and a Master’s degree in Education from Syracuse University. She has taught Chinese in Canada for more than 15 years and she also had a career in journalism. She enjoys travel, Chinese cooking, writing and volunteering for immigrants and international student communities.
