About the instructor: After graduating from St. Thomas University with an honors degree in English Literature, Angela Black travelled the world. While on the road, she experimented with different art mediums, and sold hand-painted clothes and art cards.  She later enrolled at the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design (NBCCD) in Fredericton, where she discovered her love for screen printing and surface design.  She later went on to develop her own independent business, Random Paper and Fabric.

After attending NBCCD, she found herself forging ancient leather bindings at Haystack Mountain School of Craft in Maine. She has never looked back. With the mantra of "keep what you have, by giving it away", Angela began teaching art privately, with District 18 schools, and with Fredericton Arts and Learning. Together with two other art comrades, she also founded the "Fredericton Crafter's". Today, Angela spends her time working at UNB’s College of Extended Learning and with the education committee at Gallery Connexion, Fredericton's artist-run center.
