Instructor Development Program

The Faculty of Education offers degree-credit courses intended to assist Community College instructors as they enter the field of post-secondary education. This program is designed, first, to introduce participants to adult education concepts and to help them learn practical ways to plan and implement the curriculum they are intending to teach.

In a formative way, this also represents an opportunity to assess and evaluate their performance and effectiveness in the teaching/learning setting. Activities related to the practicum take place during the instructional year. Second, this program provides participants with an opportunity to develop further their understanding of adult learning and the planning and implementation of educational programs for adult learners. Participants also have an opportunity to review and reflect upon their own experiences in their respective teaching-learning settings.
