This two-day interactive seminar formally introduces the participant to the process of structured negotiation with the goal of developing and enhancing the negotiation skills needed to conduct an effective negotiation process with successful outcomes. Effective negotiating skills associated with each strategy introduced will be enhanced by applying them to a hands-on real-life simulation. The seminar starts with a skills survey to advise participants on their dominant negotiating style and the level of strength in the desired negotiating skills.

Dr. M.H. Hamdan (OND-Engineering, BSc, MSc, PhD-Applied Mathematics, Cert. Negotiation, Mediation & Conflict Resolution), has been teaching Mathematics, Management Science, and Decision Science, for the past eighteen years at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John, and at other universities. He is the recipient of a number of teaching awards, including the Stuart Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching, and is recognized and listed by a number of international biographical organizations, such as: Who’s Who in Science & Engineering; Most Distinguished American Men & Women of Science; Outstanding Scientists of the 20th Century.
He spent six years studying and researching Negotiation Analysis and Modelling, and developing Negotiation Training Programmes such as: Mutual Gains Negotiation Essentialstm mark and Mutual Gains Sales Negotiationstm mark. He presented seminars and conducted training workshops for individual and corporate clients drawn from: Irving Oil Ltd., Fundy Engineering, RBC, NBCC-Saint John, City of Saint John, Saint John Board of Trade, and UNB Business Students.
He spent more than ten years in the international consulting field for bodies such as: UNDP, UNEP, Ministries of Planning and of Education, and Science Academies in the areas of Science & Technology Planning; R&D Management; Institutional Development, Evaluation & Assessment; Education Consulting and Curriculum Development; in addition to training bankers in Personal Finance and Wealth Valuation. Other consulting work that is noteworthy is his development of the Land-21 Programme as part of UNEP’s Agenda-21 for a Middle-Eastern country.
