This seminar will provide an environment in which participants can improve their knowledge skills and attitudes in developing and leading effective teams. Teams need more than theory, they need the “how to”. Course participants will learn to establish the team, determine the roles and responsibilities of team members and develop constructive communication channels. Strategies for typical team dysfunctions will be highlighted.

Joanne Fraser’s management background in the private, public and
international non-government sectors brings a wealth of experience to
her training and facilitation work. For the past eight years she has
worked as an independent consultant. Currently Ms. Fraser is an
associate of RiverSystems: Leadership, Strategy & Organizational
Development providing training and facilitation services for government,
non-government and private sector clients.
She has designed and
delivered training workshops in project management, strategic planning,
leadership skills, interpersonal communication, coaching basics, team
building and negotiation skills. For Dalhousie University’s College of
Continuing Education she is a facilitator in their adult education
certificate program and train-the-trainer course. For the Centre for
Intercultural Learning, Joanne facilitates intercultural effectiveness
training for Canadians going overseas and for international participants
coming to Canada to work/study through CIDA sponsored programs.
Joanne
has a keen interest in helping individuals and groups learn from and
adapt to change. Ms. Fraser has a Certificate in Adult Education from
St. Francis Xavier University. She holds a BSc degree from the
University of Saskatchewan and a MSc degree in Comparative Development
and International Policy from the University of Bristol, England.
