Introduction to Conflict Resolution

This one day introduction to conflict resolution seminar is ideal if you want to be better equipped next time you are faced with a conflict in your organization without much time away from the office. It is also a great refresher if you have taken some some training in the past.

The overall purpose of this seminar is to make you more aware of the value that a neutral person can play in facilitating the resolution of a conflict.

At the end of the seminar, you will be able to:

  • Describe the nature, layers and dynamics of conflict 
  • Describe how values, beliefs and stereo-types impact conflict
  • Identify underlying and deep-rooted sources of conflict
  • Identify and apply five principles of neutrality in resolving conflicts
  • Apply four general steps in the resolution of conflicts

Pat currently works as a Restorative Justice Mediator.  She also manages her own company Minding-The-Gap Consultants Inc providing services to government and private agencies as a consultant and trainer for conflict management strategies. She provides workplace assessment, mediation, and facilitation. She also teaches the 'Third Party Neutral' Certificate program offered in partnership with UNB CEL and the Canadian Institution for Conflict Resolution (CICR).
