In this workshop, the focus is on developing personal skills associated with the resolution of disputes through an approach based on the interests and needs of the individual. It explores the pervasive role of perception and presumptions in interaction with others. The workshop will equip participants to soundly manage their conflicts through greater appreciation of the factors that impact conflict and facilitate better communication with each other.

Conflict Resolution for Team Managers: Facilitate Conflict

When conflict erupts between employees, the relationship can deteriorate to the point where interpersonal communication becomes deficient or non-existent. In a leadership role, managers may take action to facilitate dispute resolution. Participants will learn how to remain impartial and avoid imposing a solution. Acquiring this art and practice is the goal of this workshop.

Instructor:

Certified Mediator Alain Paulin  specializes in conflict management since 1998. He launched Facilitation Sphera inc. in 2013, a company offering mediation, facilitation and training. He made his career in the Government of Canada for 24 years successively in communications, human resources and conflict resolution, including eight years as a mediator in the Department of National Defence. He has worked in both official languages ​​as a mediator, facilitator and trainer from coast to coast. He also worked in the Central African Republic, Dominican Republic, Uganda and Kenya on behalf of the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution, the Danish Refugee Council, the Danish Deming Group and the United Nations .

Alain holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) and a certificate in conflict management. He is currently pursuing graduate studies in peace and conflict. He has attended numerous professional development workshops in Canada and the United States. He currently serves on the board of the Institute of Mediation and Arbitration of the Atlantic.
