Program fees vary by destination. In general, program fees cover the cost of course tuition, some meals, accommodations and class excursions.
For a comprehensive list of what’s included with your program fees, please see the course specific details for the Travel Study you are interested in.
Additional Costs May Include:
- Text books
- Some meals
- Local travel & transportation
- Souvenirs, telephone calls & sundry expenses
- Participation in local events and excursions not included with your program
Program Fees Do NOT Include:
- Passport / visa fees
- International Health Care Insurance (mandatory)
- Travel & Medical Insurance
- Airfare
Fee Payments
A minimum fee payment of $1000 is required to reserve your Travel Study spot and is due when you submit your application.
Please note: Your application will not be processed without this fee payment.
Participants are encouraged to make an additional fee payment by January 15, 2013. If you are unable to make a second fee payment by this date, we ask that you contact the travel study team to confirm your payment arrangements
Please note: All participants paying by student loan must submit proof of their student loan application by January 15, 2013.
Final program fee payments must be received no later than 12:00 pm, Friday, February 15, 2013.
Fee payments can be made in person, via telephone/fax, or via mail.

Students applying for a student loan may not receive their loans by the final payment deadline. If you are paying with student loan, a copy of your Needs Assessment Form must be submitted before the final payment deadline. You are responsible for paying any balance owing not covered by student loan by the stipulated final payment date.
Cancellation Policy and Refunds
If you wish to cancel your Travel Study registration, you must complete a Cancellation Request Form no later than January 15, 2013.
No refunds will be issued after January 15, 2013
All cancellations must be submitted via the cancellation request form, and will be subject to a $300.00 administration fee. This administration fee will automatically be deducted from your deposit.
Program Cancellation
In the event that your Travel Study Program is cancelled by UNB, you will be given the option to transfer your registration to another program with an available spots. Should you opt not to transfer your registration, you will receive a full refund of your deposit and any program fees you have paid.
Financial Aid and Student Loan
Funding for Travel Study programs may be available for full-time UNB students through Student loan and select bursary programs. For more information please contact UNB's Financial Aid Office.
If you are applying for student loans, and you do not receive your loan by the final payment deadline, you will be required to provide a copy of your "Needs Assessment Form" before the final payment deadline. You may be eligible for
student loan. If you are applying for student loan, applications should

You can apply for funding through UNBSJ. To be eligible you must:
- Be a full-time undergraduate student
- Be a Canadian citizen & permanent resident
- Have successfully completed 60 credit hours of a degree program before departure on your Travel Study program
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5
