Centre for Musical Arts - Conservatory
The UNB Conservatory offers a comprehensive program that includes private music lessons, performing ensembles at various levels, and instruction in music theory. Students of all ages will have the opportunity to perform in Conservatory concerts and other special events throughout the year.
Fredericton Youth Orchestra
Students will participate in a full symphonic orchestra, gaining valuable practice and playing experience. The FYO will perform in end-of-term concerts and other community events.
Intermediate String Orchestra
For students grades 3-6. Gives string players the opportunity to experience playing in a large ensemble. Offered in both the Fall and Winter terms.
UNB Conservatory Glee Club
For students 14 & up - work on singing technique, harmony, choreography and stage technique all in a fun atmosphere. Solo and group performances, and Bilingual instruction is available (English & French).
Adult Courses & Programs
Beginner Adult Band
Never played a band instrument but always wanted to learn? Played in your high school band and want to pick it up again. Adults with little to no experience will have the opportunity to play in a band in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
Intermediate Adult Band
If you have a good foundation with your band instrument but are not yet ready to play in a community band, this is the group for you. Develop your skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Offered in both Fall & Winter terms.
Intermediate Hand Drumming
This course is for individuals who already play hand drums and wish to refine their technique. Here, the individual will learn how to switch from one rhythm to another, the proper manner to play the Djembe and 12/8 rhythms. Offered in both Fall & Winter terms.

Chamber ensembles
Trios, quartets and similar small groups are formed throughout the year to enhance the musical skills of students.
Music Theory Class
The UNB Conservatory offers a Basic Rudiments class. This covers the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Basic Rudiments level, and will be suitable for exam preparation. Each class will also include 10 minutes of ear training, where students will work on techniques including singing and identifying intervals, chords, and scales.
