Daytime Workshop - Approaches to Nature Poetry with Ian LeTourneau
CCOM 1924
Nature poetry has always had a central place in world literature. But gone are the days when poets could rely solely on the Aeolian harp and sing about the beauty around them. In this workshop, we'll take a quick historical survey of nature poetry, examining the key aspects that help it endure, but we'll focus our attention on how to write effectively in today's environmental reality of climate change.
There will be focused writing exercises, and participants are encouraged to bring comfortable shoes in case weather permits a brief walk into our subject matter, and to bring copies of one of their own poems to workshop in the class.
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Milham Room, Harriet Irving Library, UNB Campus
Course fee: $125.00 plus HST for adults
$100.00 plus HST for students
