Course Description:

An introduction to basic neurophysiology, neurochemistry and neuroanatomy for humans and other animals. The course will cover the methods used to discover the fundamental processes underlying neural function and provide basic knowledge for an understanding of how the nervous system is able to produce and control behaviour.

Prerequisite:

Introductory Psychology (6 ch) or permission of instructor.

Eleven quizzes (one quiz per chapter) worth a total of 40%, each quiz consists of 25 multiple-choice questions. Midterm Exam (Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) consists of 75 mutiple choice questions. Final Exam (Chapters 7, 8, 9, 12, 13) consists of 75 multiple- choice questions.
