BIOL 2259 Clinical Microbiology Online
Three (3) Credit Hours
This course is an online version of BIOL 2251. Introduction to the fundamental concepts of infectious disease microbiology. Discusses bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa, helminths and arthropods.
Electronic textbook, full recorded lectures, chapter quizzes, clinical cases and discussion of current topics (Zika virus, Human microbiome, etc)
|Course Format:||Students complete lecture portion of the course by reviewing assigned chapters, watching the recorded lectures and then completing the timed open book quizzes. Four clinical cases are also completed in the second half of the course in addition to one midterm and final exam.|

|Assignments & Examinations:||
All mid-term exams and final exams for online courses will be invigilated at an approved time and location. Please refer to the Online Exam Request Form to book.
|Time Limit:||Six months from the registration date. All assessments (assignments and midterm exams) must be completed prior to writing the final exam, which must be written on or before your designated course end date.|
