Course Description:

The purpose of this course is to introduce the process of administration and the functional components of profit oriented organizations. It will consider the general environmental framework of management as well as distinctive features of Canadian business. To achieve this goal, students will be required to research online business news articles from the Canadian press and submit answers to relevant end of chapter business topics. By the end of the course, students should have acquired a broader understanding of general business topics.

Prerequisite: There are no specific courses required as a prerequisite to take this course.

Course Format:

The course is composed of reading 9 chapters from an assigned textbook and preparing 3 assignments scheduled during the course which will relate to relevant chapter topics. It is important to follow the course schedule and complete each set of chapter readings and end of chapter tests, prior to submitting the research assignments. A final exam will be required at the end of the course after all the end of chapter tests and assignments have been completed in sequence.
