College of Extended Learning

Centre for Musical Arts

The Centre for Musical Arts is part of UNB's College of Extended Learning (CEL). It is housed in Memorial Hall, which was opened in 1925 in honour of the 35 UNB alumni who lost their lives in the First World War. Its function is to provide the students of UNB with a wide range of musical activities and to ensure that interested students continue to enjoy the study of music in the classroom and on the stage.

The UNB Centre for Musical Arts serves a valuable community function with outreach programs and provides a variety of summer music programs for all ages.

Atlantic Sinfonia

Atlantic Sinfonia Atlantique, a unique hybrid orchestra with an audience-friendly approach to classical chamber music, brings together some of the best professional musicians from the Maritime region. Under the artistic direction of Richard Hornsby and led by New Brunswick’s David Adams, as concertmaster, the group performs in 18th-century style, standing and performing without a conductor and often in non-traditional performance settings with fine acoustics.
