College of Extended Learning

Poetry Unlimited

CCOM 1127

Poetry makes sense of the world. If you've ever found yourself struggling with something you can't express, poetry steps in. Whether you've scarce set pen to paper or you're well-versed in verse, there's a place for you in poetry.

This course will see you writing and revising poetry, each week reading different styles and refining your own. We'll explore various techniques, processes, and the mechanics of what makes a successful poem. In the second part of the class, we will workshop your poems and apply those concepts to your work! By the end of the course, you could send your poetry to various magazines, self-publish a chapbook, or read to an audience!
