This is an introductory course in the Arabic language. This is for you, the absolute beginner, to develop a basic knowledge of Arabic conversation, writing and sounds. You will learn to write Arabic letters in various positions and identify the basic phonics of the language in order to achieve a basic proficiency in the language. Lina will focus on speaking and listening and you will be introduced to reading and writing Arabic as well.

By the end of this course, you will be able to read and comprehend simple Arabic texts and be able to converse functionally with some limited proficiency. You should be able to carry out face-to-face conversations on limited familiar topics.

About the instructor

Rahma Kouraich is the multi-lingual program manager for Atlantic Human Services, working with newcomers to New Brunswick. A gifted teacher, Rahma teaches Arabic and 1-on-1 French with CEL, and she speaks German as well.
