Acoustic Guitar 2: Beyond the Basics

CCOM 7401

You know the basics, and you’re ready to go beyond. In Acoustic Guitar 2, you will learn a variety of chord patterns, different ways to ‘voice’ your favourite chords, and new right hand strumming patterns. We’ll review the basic time signatures and learn how to play in more challenging time signatures; 2/4, 6/8 and if we’re feeling brave 7/8 too!

We’ll continue working with the Nashville numbering system, learning how to turn major into minor chords, how to find and add the 7th in any chord. We’ll explore the mystical “Beatles Magic Chord”. You’ll learn the excellent left-hand thumb trick too.

With this class, we’ll work to include specific songs or style and technique questions brought by the students.
