Food and Wine Pairing

Enhance your dining experience with this one evening workshop on food and wine pairing. With Sommelier Chris MacDonald and JC Belzille as your guides, you’ll explore various food and wine pairings - examining the qualities of a wine, such as its sugar, acid, alcohol level and tannins, and how those characteristics can be accentuated or minimized when paired with certain foods. You’ll also be introduced to a variety of wine types and a selection of foods.

Don’t miss this gourmand experience!

Note: Participants should be 19 years of age or older, and arrange for a drive or a taxi after the workshop.

About the instructor

Chris Macdonald and Jean-Charles (J.C.) Belzile have delivered numerous educational workshops together. Chris is a UNB Alumnus, graduating in 1997 with his BSc. Chris has been a CAPS Certified Sommelier since 2006 and has nine years experience in the beverage and alcohol industry. He has a strong passion for wine, beer and spirit education.

J.C. Belzile is a graduate of the Quebec Tourism Institute. He has worked in the food and beverage industry for 25 years. In 1998, J. C. started his work in the beverage industry as a sales representative and has worked in that capacity ever since. He is a wine enthusiast and a bon vivant.
