This course is restricted to students registered in the ABA Certificate program

This course will focus on the research literature pertaining to advancements in behavioural interventions to decrease aberrant behaviour and increase appropriate behaviour. Topics covered include linking assessment to intervention, antecedent interventions, consequence-based interventions, and behaviour change systems.

  • The course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to synthesize peer-reviewed literature and best practice guidelines to inform behavioral intervention.
  • Students will immediately apply what they have learned in each unit to socially significant problems and case studies, gaining valuable experience that can be readily applied to practice.
  • Opportunities to develop professional problem-solving skills are embedded throughout each component of the course, a skill that will help prepare students to be independent BCaBAs.

Course details

Students have six months from the registration date to complete the course. All course exams and/or assignments must be completed by the designated end date.

Assignments and examinations

  • 4 x Quizzes (20 points each)
  • 6 x Course Activities (15 points each)
  • 4 x Reading Guides (10 points each)
  • 1 x Final Assignment (70 points)
  • 1 x Final Exam (invigilated, 300 points)

The final exam for this course will be invigilated at an approved time and location. Please refer to the Online Exam Request Form.
