Attracting, retaining, and developing skilled and motivated frontline supervisors and leaders continues to be a challenge for many organizations. UNB has created the Certificate in Management Essentials (CME) with this in mind. Our goal is to become one of your trusted leadership development and training partners.

See how the program aligns the participant and employer through a learning pathway.

Key Features of the CME

Rigor – this program, designed by subject matter experts, addresses the specific core competencies required to be a successful manager. The curriculum has been reviewed and approved by the University Senate.  Each course includes three core competencies that provide a comprehensive introduction to management. Each course also includes a final evaluation that allows employees to demonstrate their learning and progress.

Applied Learning – employees enrolled in the CME are provided with relevant, current and practical tools that can be applied immediately in the workplace.

Flexibility – employees can customize their program to focus on their specific gaps in skills and knowledge.  In addition to six core courses, employees choose four of the twelve electives based on their identified needs and interest.

Self-Paced Learning – this program is 100% online allowing your employees to learn at their own pace and in their own time. The CME incorporates a blend of learning methodologies within each course including ebooks, video, activities, assignments, readings, quizzes and self-reflection to enhance the learning experience.

For employees that only require help in certain areas of management and supervising, each individual course can be taken as a stand-alone choice.
