May 30, 2008 - There will be a pre-registration opportunity for MEC'08 attendees on Tuesday evening (August 12th) at the Crown Plaza Hotel (Boardroom #4) from 7:00pm - 10:00pm. We encourage all MEC'08 attendees to stop in on Tuesday evening and pre-register if they can.
April 28, 2008 - The MEC'08 registration is now available online. This is for registering for the MEC Symposium, Assessment of Capacity for Myoelectric Control (ACMC) course, or for both. Please share this information with your colleagues as a paper version of the registration will not be sent in the regular mail. Click here to register for MEC'08.

April 18, 2008 - The MEC'08 abstracts have been reviewed and notices of acceptance have been sent to authors. We have received the most abstracts ever for a MEC Symposium Call for Papers. Thanks to all authors who have submitted abstracts to MEC'08.
March 17, 2008 - The registration fees for the upcoming Myoelectric Controls Symposium (MEC’08) and pre-symposium ACMC course are as follows:
Assessment of Capacity for Myoelectric Control (ACMC) course - August 10 – 12, 2008 - $400.00 CDN
Myoelectric Controls Symposium (MEC’08) - August 13 - 15, 2008 - $600.00 CDN
Both ACMC and MEC’08 - August 10 – 15, 2008 - $850.00 CDN
Information and cost (if any) for other pre-symposium courses, that are offered by manufacturers, will be distributed using the MEC email announcements and the MEC website when this information becomes available.

We are accepting abstracts (150 - 200 words) on topics such as: outcome measures, myoelectric control, prosthetic design, prosthetic training, psycho-social adaptation, hybrid systems, clinical management, service delivery and case studies. March 5, 2008 - Accommodations - The hotel of choice for the conference will be the Crown Plaza Fredericton http://www.cpfredericton.com and we have a block of rooms reserved at $134/night during the period Aug 9th – 15th. It is best to call the hotel directly to reserve a room 506-455-3371 and state there is a block reserved for the MEC Symposium to get that rate.
March 5, 2008 - Pre-Symposium course/workshop by Touch Bionics - The session will focus on the i-LIMB hand and will cover clinical background, patient selection, fitting, patient training, service and support.

August 03, 2007 - MEC'08 will provide a unique opportunity for Occupational Therapists experienced in upper limb prosthetics. Pre-Symposium course by Liselotte Hermansson on the administration of the Assessment of Capacity for Myoelectric Control (ACMC), one of the leading functional outcome measures in this field.

August 22, 2005 - The MEC'05 Symposium and workshops were held during the August 15 - 19, 2005 week and were a great success. The option of registering online for information updates about the next MEC symposium will remain an active component of the MEC website.
