About the APTF 2009 - Presentations - Schedule

The University of New Brunswick Transportation Group is pleased to host the Atlantic Provinces Transportation Forum, a one-day conference devoted to discussing transportation issues of mutual interest to Atlantic Canada. The theme of this year's forum is:

"Funding future highway operations & maintenance in Atlantic Canada"

Highways are one of the most important means of moving people and freight throughout Atlantic Canada and connect the four provinces to national and international markets. Highways also represent a substantial public investment. There has been considerable highway construction work in the Atlantic Provinces to significantly improve safety and mobility. In addition to construction costs, there is a need to plan for the costs associated with operating, maintaining and rehabilitating highways in the years following their construction. Will current financing sources be sufficient? Will there be an impact on motorists, shippers, trucking companies, and others? What are the challenges and what are some innovative solutions? Come explore this topic at the 2009 APTF in Fredericton.
